Pomodoro Timer

25 minutes of focus, then a short break — fully editable

25 minutes of focus, then a short break — the classic Pomodoro technique. Runs in this browser tab; keep it open while you work.

How this works: Default is 25 minutes work, 5 minutes short break, 15 minutes long break every 4th cycle — the original technique. Change any of the numbers before you start. A short beep plays at the end of each phase, and the browser will ask permission to show a notification too. The timer only runs while this tab is open — switching tabs is fine, closing or reloading it resets progress.

Runs in this browser tab only. Closing or reloading the tab resets the timer. A timer that keeps running when your phone is locked needs a native app, not a webpage — see the MultiSwitch app for that.

FAQ

What is the Pomodoro technique?

A time-management method: work in focused blocks (traditionally 25 minutes), then take a short break. After a set number of blocks (traditionally 4), you take a longer break. The numbers here default to that but are fully editable.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs or apps?

Yes, switching tabs or apps is fine — the timer keeps counting in the background of your browser. Closing the tab, closing the browser, or reloading the page resets it, since nothing is saved between sessions.

Can I change the interval lengths?

Yes — work, short break, long break, and how many work cycles happen before a long break are all editable before you press start.

Does this need my camera or send notifications without asking?

No camera involved. It plays a short sound at the end of each phase, and will ask your browser's permission (a normal browser prompt) before showing a desktop notification — it never does so silently.
